Menlo Park Elementary School proudly serves approximately 850 students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Our diverse community includes families from around the globe, with more than 65% of our students speaking English as a second language. These students represent over forty different languages and dialects.
At Menlo Park Elementary School, our dedicated staff fosters a child-centered environment that recognizes and values each learner's unique strengths and needs. We are committed to nurturing students' special abilities and talents through a program focused on continuous improvement and growth. Our Instructional Coach supports staff by providing ongoing professional development for teachers, ensuring they have the tools and skills required to effectively teach our students.
We are also enthusiastic about the district’s commitment to enriching education through technology. Each classroom is equipped with a Newline Board, which facilitates interactive learning and student engagement. The incorporation of Chromebooks into our curriculum enhances collaboration and idea-sharing among teachers, parents, and students through innovative methods.
Menlo Park Elementary School offers a variety of co-curricular activities designed to complement and enrich the educational experience. Some of which include Student Council, Chorus, Safety Patrol, Art Club, Odyssey of the Mind, Drama Club, and Newspaper Club. Additionally, students in grades 4 and 5 have the opportunity to participate in strings and instrumental music programs, culminating in performances that showcase their musical talents.
Our school provides comprehensive on-site student services. We have a full-time Guidance Counselor who delivers classroom lessons, works with students in small groups, and addresses individual concerns. The Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) Committee is a key component of our support system, helping identify and assist students who may need additional academic support. This committee, made up of school personnel and specialists, collaborates to support our students' learning needs.
The Menlo Park Elementary School PTO plays a vital role in supporting our teachers, students, and families. Various PTO committees organize events and initiatives such as fundraising, Lunch with the Principals, Fun Day, Science Fair, and the Holiday Shop. The PTO executive board continuously develops innovative activities which foster a sense of community and belonging.
We warmly invite all parents to visit Menlo Park Elementary School to explore opportunities to volunteer, act as role models, and contribute to the development of well-educated, caring, and respectful students.
